VROD For Life!

Harley Davidson VROD - The Fastest Production Harley

Anyone still riding on solid wheels?? I am! Just curious if anyone else still has them? I love my solids, I plan on getting them chromed. Maybe 'black chrome' ?? ooh that would look hot!

Black chrome would set it off Violet. Just a thought for ya, I have a whole bunch of stock solids in my warehouse. If you'd like, I can let you go ahead and use a set to get black chromed so your bike won't be sitting without wheels while they're being black chromed. Once the wheels are done, have them mounted on your bike and send back to me your stock solids. How does that sound?

Well that sounds awesome! And very kind of you! I had a quote of about $800 for the chrome - right now its a bit much for me to come up with, but when I get ready to do it, I'll let you know!

I'm still ridin' on mine. I have to say though, I've seen some really nice rims out there, just don't have 2k to blow on wheels rite now. Until then, I'm still happy with my "chrome" solids.

I really l like mine, for me the vrod is so versatile as far as looks go, the original design is pretty stunning and ahead of its time, but some of the things people have done with custom work is amazing! It is never a boring bike!

I'm still riding on the stock polished aluminum solid wheels. Still think of them as part of the original, unique VROD appearance factor. Would only replace them if I were to tour on this bike, but more likely to get a different bike for that. ;-)

My bikes' previous owner put every piece of chrome imaginable on her...so, I have the chrome solids. People tell me I imagine the wind.

People can say what they want, we don't imagine the wind. Even the early fat boy owners, with its extra bulk, noticed the effect with solid wheels. Instead of the wind "wanting" to knock you over, it "wants" to push the wheels out from under you. Turns out leaning away from the wind instead of into it lets the wind push the wheels into the road for a solid ride/feel. I know, it's kinda back asswards from the usual on other wheels.
